REAL MADRID; WINNERS OF THE 2014 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

FT: Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid (92’ Ramos, 110’ Bale, 117’ Marcelo, 120’ Ronaldo | 36’ Godin)
The end of a final for the ages. You have to feel for Atletico, who were literally seconds away from lifting the trophy, but for the intervention of Ramos in the last minute of injury time. From then the writing was always on the wall for the Rojiblancos. Madrid were fitter and faster, and put them to the sword ruthlessly in extra time.
UEFA Champions League Final 2014; Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid
UEFA Champions League FinalToday, 1:45 PM
Estadio da Luz
Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid Referee: Bjorn Kuipers (Netherlands)
All times are in Eastern Standard Time
Real Madrid will be without midfielder Xabi Alonso through suspension after the former Liverpool man was booked in the semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich. Cristiano Ronaldo is fit to feature despite a recent thigh injury, with Gareth Bale also available despite sitting out training earlier in the week. Karim Benzema could miss out due to a muscle problem but Ancelotti has confirmed that Sami Khedira is available after a recent knee injury, while Pepe (calf) has missed the last two games.
Atletico are sweating over the fitness of star striker Diego Costa after he limped out of the clash with Barcelona last weekend with a hamstring injury. Midfielder Arda Turan sustained a groin problem in the same game, with Simeone giving both men every opportunity to prove their fitness ahead of the final. Gabi is available again after sitting out the second leg of the semi-final victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge through suspension.
Expected Line-up:
Real Madrid: Casillas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Di Maria, Illarramendi, Modric; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
BENCH: Diego López, Pepe, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Morata, Isco, Illarra.
Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have recovered from their injuries and will be fit for Saturday, while Pepe and Karim Benzema remain slight doubts, but are likely to be featured.
Xabi Alonso will miss out due to suspension.
Atletico Madrid: Courtois, Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Filipe Luis, Raul Garcia, Gabi, Tiago, Koke, Villa, Diego Costa.
BENCH: Aranzubia, Mario Suarez, Adrian, Rodriguez, Alderweireld, Diego, Sosa.
Atletico confirmed that Arda Turan and Diego Costa will be included in the squad, as both have returned to training on Thursday.
Costa, who went to see ‘placenta doctor’ Marijana Kovacevic in a bid to be match fit, is likely to start on the bench, while Turan is tipped to be fit enough for a starting berth.
